Rubber Band Fun with Precision RBS!

by Dannelle

The Precision RBS is a rubber band launcher. When my 11-year-old and 9-year-old saw these launchers the first word out of their mouths was “awesome!” We received two of the launchers which is nice as who likes waiting for their turn?! They both came with two sizes of rubber bands for ammo as well as targets. We got to play with the Talos and Chiron models. They are lightweight and you can load up to 12 smaller bands and 8 medium bands at a time. The Talos and Chiron models both have a spot to store extra bands which is handy. The Talos model includes a built-in extender. The Chiron model can divide into two launchers (one with Talos features and a hand launcher). That leaves no sharing between my 3 kids (yay)! Now instead we can argue about who gets which launcher and not aiming at each other. :o Loading the rubber bands is really simple and quick. Once they are loaded, you lift up the clear shield and lock it into place. Then aim, pull the trigger and … [Read more...]

Gears! Sweet Shop Building Set … Creative and Colorful

by Dannelle

I love STEM toys and jumped at the opportunity to try out the Learning Resources Gears Sweet Shop Building Set. The colors are vibrant and the lollipops, cupcakes, and ice cream cones make this a cute building set. The packaging is nice and easy to open. The box is durable for storing the pieces, and there are only two bags to open up and throw away. 82 pieces are included, and a sticker sheet. The pieces are very durable and well-made. My son, who is good at destroying things, received a different Learning Resources Gears set a few years ago, and it is still intact!    While there are instructions on putting the set together like how it is shown on the box, it allows children to be creative. They can choose to follow those instructions and/or create their own design! I reminded my 7-year-old of this a few times when putting it together. She is so used to following directions that she felt everything had to match exactly, even as to the colors. The pieces are … [Read more...]

Echo Max Rumbler Radio Controlled Car

by Dannelle

My 9-year-old son couldn’t wait to rip open the Echo Max Rumbler radio-controlled car box when it arrived. His first response was how cool it looked. The box states it performs 8 stunts (stand, flip, 360 spin, vertical spin, hyper spin, somersault, side flip, and 360 loop), so we put it to the test. The first thing we noticed was how fast this radio controlled car is….it is crazy! Now I just have to watch out so I don’t get in its way! My son found it very easy to move around with the transmitter. Its design is nice as it flips and just keeps going. This will be a fun toy to take outdoors. This radio controlled car seems very durable, especially for the price. My son has received other radio controlled cars and trucks and they usually don’t last long or perform well. It comes in 2 frequencies, so for even more crazy fun you can buy 2 to race! Disclaimer: We were sent the Echo Max Rumbler in exchange for our review. All thoughts are entirely our own. … [Read more...]

Curious Chef – Get Your Kids Cooking at Full STEAM

by Ann McGrath

I loved cooking when I was a child. By the time I was 8 years old I was making dinner for my family and looking through my mom’s cookbooks for fun.  Now that I have kids of my own, it’s important to me to share my love of cooking with them. Curious Chef products are the perfect tools to do just that. There is so much to love about bringing kids into the kitchen with you, and Curious Chef is committed to this idea.  Curious Chef believes that teaching children to cook builds essential life skills like self-confidence, good eating habits, promotes ownership, fosters math and science skills, listening and following directions, teaches vocabulary, and encourages spending family time together.  These are all qualities that I truly believe are benefits to teaching children to cook, and I was delighted to find a company that shared my feelings so closely.   Curious Chef products impressed me with their quality right from the start. For example, Nylon knives are serrated and have a blunt … [Read more...]

Kids Shows That Rock In Education Featured Image

There are so many television shows out there geared towards kids, but not all of them have educational value. In fact, many of them lack anything other than causing ADHD in children.
