Kids Shows That Rock In Education

There are so many television shows out there geared towards kids, but not all of them have educational value. In fact, many of them lack anything other than causing ADHD in children. With all the technology out there, your kids are sure to have a couple hours of screen time each day. Instead of feeding their brains with nonsense, check out these kids shows that rock in education!

Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood

Created from the infamous Mr. Roger’s Neighborhood, Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood teaches kids about love, respect, and so many educational concepts all preschool kids can learn. The songs help kids learn their alphabet, numbers, and even how to respond to people. The songs help kids to learn that how to calm down when they are angry, how to say sorry, and other key concepts to living in a world with different people.

Super Why!

Super Why is a group of kids that hop into stories and figure out the answers to the questions they are facing. Not only do they help teach kids how to read, but they work on letter recognition, sounds, and counting. Through reading a book, kids discover recognize letters, learn to spell words, and use their imaginations to make endings to stories. Children learn how to solve their own problems and do their own research all in a fun exploration.

Pinky Dinky Doo

No new episodes of Pinky Dinky Doo are being made, but you can find her episodes on streaming stations and Youtube. Pinky has a vivid imagination that takes her and her brother on incredible stories in her “story box.” However, each story has one or two vocabulary words children learn. For example,
she may use the word “enormous” several times in a story. Pinky Dinky Doo teaches kids to be creative, tell stories, and use higher vocabulary in their language.

Mickey Mouse Clubhouse

Not all Disney shows come with educations, but Mickey Mouse Clubhouse is full of learning and imaginative fun. Kids learn colors, shapes, letters, and various skills from Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. With questions to the audience, kids learn to answer out loud as well as come up with answers on their own. Micky Mouse Clubhouse includes and interacts with the viewers for a positive and educational approach.

Little Einsteins

Filled with historical musicians, Little Einsteins teaches kids the value of music and learning. Not only is music great to learn, but it has been proven that music classical music stimulates the brain and enhances knowledge. Children learn to beat, rhythm, rhyme, counting, and cooperation through the various adventures of the Little Einsteins.

Jake and the Neverland Pirates

Let your kids hop aboard the pirate ship to embark on a journey of educational games and adventure. Jake and the Neverland Pirates takes its ideas from Peter Pan as Jake and his friends teach your kids about social skills, solving problems, and behavior through solving “pirate problems.” If your kids like adventure, but you want them to learn something, too, Jake and the Neverland Pirates reach kids from 3-8 years old.

Curious George

You may think a curious little monkey getting into trouble doesn’t have much to teach your kids, but think again. Because George is always curious, he ventures out to find answers to the questions he has. He teaches kids of all ages how to use their imaginations to figure out problems, have fun, and get a hypothesis. George may be a curious little monkey, but curiosity helps brains grow. From turning a box into a car and a rocket ship to discovering that balloons all blow the same shape, your kids will learn anything and everything from George.

Doc McStuffins

Doc McStuffins is a new age show that shows the reversed roles of mom at work and dad who stays home. Doc not only shows love and compassion to everyone she encounters, but she teaches kids to be leaders, stand up for what’s right, and that you can always do what you set your mind to do. With her approach to becoming a doctor, she teaches the “new” STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics). curriculum in schools today! She also teaches basic skills such as washing your hands and personal hygiene.

Dora the Explorer and Go Diego Go

Both Dora and Diego bring English speaking children into a Spanish speaking environment where they not only learning basic skills but learn another language. Kids can learn to count in both English and Spanish as well as learn different fruits, trees, and names in Spanish. Kids learn to solve problems, answer questions and care for the environment around them through the adventures of Dora the Explorer and Go Diego Go.
