Arckit GO Colors Really Stacks Up

by Sarah

Arckit GO Colors Featured Image

Disclaimer: We were sent an Arckit GO Colors product in exchange for an hones review. All thoughts are entirely our own - and the elementary school students' who tested this out for us. The product was then left at the school to be part of their "maker space". The Arckit GO Colors Building Kit is a must have if you or your kids like to build things! These amazing kits are like a mix between Legos and Lincoln Logs and combine all the best features of both to come together into a wonderful building set that will keep you entertained for hours upon end! Like Legos, these come in a kit that has instructions on how to create specific designs. The bright colors allow you to enjoy your design and differentiate between pieces easily. But, like Lincoln Logs, they’re made out of wood, instead of plastic! If you don’t feel like following the instructions to build the designs that came with the kit, you can also free-form design to your heart’s content! There’s 170 pieces in the Arckit … [Read more...]

Imhotep Game Is A Historic Hit

by Sarah

Imhotep Game

Disclaimer: We received this Imhotep Game in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts are entirely their own. Finding games that the kids enjoy that also teach strategy and a bit of history is challenging. Nowadays, games like Pie Face are flying off the shelves, and that isn't a game that my family would enjoy playing. In my research to find a game that the entire family would enjoy playing, I discovered the Imhotep Game. The Imhotep game is made for 2-4 players that are 10 years of age or older. The goal? Build awe inspiring monuments by transporting stone blocks to construction sites. Check it out on YouTube Players take on the roles of ancient Egyptian architects. Over six rounds, you must try to transport your stone blocks to end up in the most valuable positions at five construction sites: pyramid, obelisk, chamber tomb, temple, and market. But you can only choose one of three actions in a turn: excavate a new stone block from the quarry, load a block onto a … [Read more...]

Madame Tussauds is A flash to the past

by Sarah

Madame Tussauds

Disclaimer: We received Madame Tussauds tickets in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts are entirely our own. Madame Tussauds was absolutely amazing! A few of the "people" I met were Taylor Swift, JFK, Jenna Marbles, Barrack and Michelle Obama, Lucille Ball, Michael Jordan, Al Roker, Matt Lauer, Jimmy Fallon, Abe Lincoln, Bill and Hillary Clinton, a Victoria Secret model, E.T., Katness Everdeen and even Madame Tussaud herself! Here I am hanging with Whoopie! Yes, there really was a Madame Tussaud and you could learn all about her by learning at her own exhibit. The history of the wax museum was beyond interesting to learn about and I would love to tell you more but I think you need to go and see it for yourself! I highly recommend this place to the historian and/or adventurer inside you. It was a truly incredible experience and I will never forget it. One thing I didn't do was get a wax hand, (a the line was huge, and (b It was sweltering that day. Ahhh, Captain … [Read more...]

Code & Go Mouse Activity Set is Perfect for the Littles!

by Sarah

Technology sure has come a long way since I was a kid. It wasn't until I was nearing my older years that the internet was even available in households across the country. Now the internet is available wirelessly, in every room, without having to free up the phone lines. Cell phones have taken over, cameras are available at the click of a button, and although our teachers warned us that we wouldn't have them everywhere we went, we now have pocket calculators. If you had tried to explain some of today's concepts to me when I was younger, I would have probably laughed outright and brushed it off. Code & Go Mouse Activity Set is Perfect for the Littles! Not only has technology as we know it changed drastically in the last 20 years, but so has the children's toy industry. So much technology makes up everyday play things, it's almost comical to try explaining toys of old to my children because everything they have has evolved so much since I was a child. Instead of imaginative play and … [Read more...]

A FinFun Mermaid Day At The Pool!

by Sarah

Fin Fun Mermaiden Mermaid Tail for Swimming

The FinFun Mermaid Tail is the best thing that ever happened to me, honestly. All you have to do is slide the MonoFin through the hole in the bottom of the tailpiece, put your feet into the foot sockets, and pull the tail up around you. It feels great in the water! Just by giving it one good kick I was flung halfway across a pool! It comes in all different colors, including purple, blue and green, orange and yellow, and also pink. Now all that's left is to ask Santa for the bikini top that goes with it!   Well, this isn't safe... Of course, it is! The MonoFin keeps you up in the water just by giving it a few swishes, and the hole in the tail helps for easy movement in the event of an emergency. It says in the instructions to "Only swim as a mermaid where you would as a human." It also gives a list of strokes you should be able to do in order to be able to use it. I highly suggest this for your mermaid wannabe. (Or merman) When you check out their website, you will … [Read more...]
