Spring Break

by Sarah

I'M SO HAPPY!!!!! I finally got the freedom I wanted for spring break. I had a blast at my grandparents, spent the day with my other grandpa, and threw up (Long story. Allergies suck!) Anyway, I'm better now, so today I have a play date with my five year old friend who should be here in a hour, have a sleepover with my bestie, and stuff my face with fritters at the Dorf Haus fish fry with my family and bestie.  So yeah, today will be awesome! Tomorrow I am attending three Easter egg hunts with my bestie, finishing a movie, watching another movie, eating popcorn, eating my Easter candy, putting out my Easter basket, and enjoying my freedom. Wishing you a happy Easter! Sarah … [Read more...]

Busy Week

by Sarah

I hardly have had any wiggle room for the last couple days because it was such a busy week. On Monday I had to sing at a concert, but that started 15 minutes after my jazz lessons. So I had to wear stage makeup to jazz. Also, we had a hard time finding the place I needed to be. On Tuesday was my talent show audition, which was an hour after school and an hour before my ballet class (you can probably tell I like dance.) I also had to do college stuff. So I did that, then had to run back to the classroom, pack up, and leave. As soon as I got home I had to get ready for my TV interview, and I had to read my college textbook (I still haven't finished the chapter yet) and after that I had to quickly eat dinner then bolt to swimming (I was a titch late.) After … [Read more...]

Our Chocolate Pen, Comes Up Empty

by Sarah

chocolate pen candy kit

I LOVE toys, seriously! My Mom has been using me as a toy tester for several years now for different articles she wrote or even TV segments...and this is one I REALLY wanted to like, but it came up a little short. Sadly, Our Chocolate Pen, Comes Up Empty. Kids BELONG in the kitchen so they can be taught math and science on the sly -- fractions with measuring and chemistry in baking. Toys that work with this are usually right up my STEM alley...and just listen to some of the descriptions: The push-button design makes it easy for kids to play with the chocolate and the molds mean anyone can make Pinterest-worthy shapes and treats. Um. Just no... We DID read the Chocolate Pen directions, and followed them. The chocolate was a tad hard to prepare: you could easily melt it in a glass of warm water but it was hard to snap the clamps on the bags once the tip was inserted. (Totally an adult job). The push-button design does not react quickly...if you STOP, some chocolate … [Read more...]
