Sojourner Truth Study Guide
I LOVE strong women who make their everlasting mark on history! This month I want to talk about a hero of not only women but African Americans as it is Black History Month. Sojourner Truth was an incredible person and the focus of a workbook I have for you this month! This Sojourner Truth Study Guide shares a lot of great information about this African American evangelist - who was also an abolitionist, women's rights activist and author. She lived a horrible life as a slave and did what she could to bring about change. Change that was sorely needed. Having been sold 3 times before she turned 13? That strikes home with me now that I am 13 - I can't even imagine what she went through - with one of her "masters" being exceptionally cruel. That is just a little about the biography of her - but there is more inside my Sojourner Truth Study Guide. You will also find her most famous quotes, some fun puzzles to learn more, and all in all? This should make for a great lesson plan … [Read more...]

A musician helps a young singer find fame as age and alcoholism. Not exactly what you want to teach a little in science! It is not really something out of Scientific American either, LOL! Talking to Tweens about Friendship? An important part of pre-teen and teen development is the process of finding new friends and relationships which are friendly. As a parent you should talk to your teen about how to become a good friend and the nuances of a healthy relationship. They should be able understand that friendship is a close connection with another person that helps one to feel valued and cared for.
