Ode To Amtrak
I took my first Amtrak train ride this summer with my family -- this is a poem about it...Ode To Amtrak. Ode To Amtrak Rumble rumble, click clack,The train comes to a stop.“All aboard!” The conductor says,So on the train we hop. We are seated on the top row,The view is lovely and grand,My first time on a train- oh wow! Then my mom takes my hand. We switch trains in Chicago,Then find our sleeper car.We get up at 4:30 am,An exciting night by far. When switching trains in Pittsburgh,We sit in business class. We go around the Horseshoe Curve,The train steady and fast. We pull into our final stop,I had fun, quite a pity. But now I know I’ll have more fun,Finally! New York City! American Museum Of Natural History
One of the things on my bucket list was to visit the American Museum of Natural History. I had been teased with it by the Kratt Brothers on their television show, seen it in movies like The Day After Tomorrow and just knew I belonged inside it. I knew it would be Nirvana. Guess What? I was correct! The American Museum of Natural History has a hall of Gems, the size of the top floor of my house that has radioactive gems, gems that glowed in the dark, and rare gem statues. Plus gold from the California Gold Rush, at least 15 different pieces of sulfur, and a large mineral hunk at the center of the main room. And of course, the hall of meteors was RIGHT NEXT DOOR, so yeah, it was like heaven! The Hall of Biodiversity was the one place I wanted to go in there. When I entered the Museum, if someone asked me where I wanted to go first, I would have said Hall of Biodiversity. Of course, they moved the Dodo bird to one of the showcases and the Tasmanian tiger, who knows where, … [Read more...]

In the year 1887 Oregon became the very first state in the United States to make it an … [Read more...]
Pete’s Dragon Movie Activity Fun!
My Mom got to see Pete's Dragon Movie in LA before it came out in theaters, and she LOVED the reboot of the Disney classic. That is why we are sharing the official Disney Pete's Dragon Movie Activity Booklet with you - to have some fun with your furry green friend. Pete's Dragon: Mr. Meacham (Robert Redford), a woodcarver, delights local children with stories of a mysterious dragon that lives deep in the woods of the Pacific Northwest. His daughter Grace (Bryce Dallas Howard) believes these are just tall tales, until she meets Pete (Oakes Fegley), a 10-year-old orphan who says he lives in the woods with a giant, friendly dragon. With help from a young girl named Natalie (Oona Laurence), Grace sets out to investigate if this fantastic claim can be true. I get a kick out of what this reviewer had to say: Despite the vastly improved visuals, the new film is just as soft-hearted — and, unfortunately, just as mush-headed — as the earlier one. He is right, I saw the … [Read more...]
