STEM Life with a nine-year-old college student

Helix Ion – A High Performing Blast

It seems like with every passing year it gets harder and harder to compete with all the latest and greatest gifts that are introduced in our retail flyers and the ever famous big book of toys. Each year when they arrive on my doorstep with our Sunday paper I find myself cringing because they’re the first thing everybody grabs when the paper is brought inside (and I know that the Christmas lists that are already a foot long) is the ads that scream to be thoroughly looked through. Much to my chagrin, as I look through the ads myself after everyone else has finished, the toys and gadgets seem to have skyrocketed in price since last years ads; I can already hear my bank account groaning just looking at everything…am I alone?

As a blogger I’m often given the opportunities to work with big brands like Spin Master and thankfully review a lot of products that not only help bring them more exposure but that also can be put towards gifts for birthdays and holidays..and we donate a lot of them through an inner city mission group to families who might not have much of a holiday otherwise. When I was offered the opportunity this year to work with Spin Master to review a few of their newest products, I was excited to be given the chance and introduce Miss Sarah to their awesome STEM line! For my review I was sent one of the Air Hogs Helix Ion products to test out and to share my opinions here on the blog with my readers.

The Air Hogs Helix Ion is an agile, responsive and extremely stable micro-quad copter that will amaze your little ones and keep them busy for hours on end with it’s amazing stunt pulling capabilities. With just a push of a button the Helix Ion will astound and captivate, boasting a 4-channel, gyro stabilization and 2.4 GHz control system which allows for optimal flight response.

Due to it’s patented Exoframe, the Helix Ion’s rotors are protected from crashes and bumps, while also keeping everything in its path protected at the same time. Whether your co-pilot is a beginner or an expert at flying, the Helix Ion is a perfect gift this holiday season! This was especially important for us to test out as there is nothing more disappointing than the new toy that breaks in less than five minutes. (Been there, done that).

Added benefits of the Helix Ion include:

  • Performs heart pounding aerial stunts
  • Beginner and advanced control options
  • Made for users ages 8+

Miss Sarah had friends younger than that and they rocked it. It was actually hard to get them to put it away so we could move on to the next gem to test, LOL!

–>Air Hogs products we tested failed our tests last year, but they totally rocked it this year — it’s worth popping on the Santa lists if you are out hunting this next week. Trust me, we were tough on it.
