Sarah Lyn Gay

STEM Life with a nine-year-old college student

Get My FREE United States Flash Cards

by Sarah

I was only four years old and knew all of my states and capitals. Seriously, adults underestimate kids like crazy. Youngsters have brains like a sponge – ready to soak up anything you want to feed it. These United States Flash Cards are a great thing to play with – and they are FREE!

If you want to take it a step further – pencil in the state capitals on the back too! The kids will learn what the state looks like, what it’s name is, and then, the capital!

What do you do with these once you print them out? Cut them apart and put into a zippy bag or other container. Keep it with you for those times you are stuck “waiting”. Are you at a restaurant and waiting for the food to arrive? Whip out that baggie and start working with the states. Are you at the dentist office and waiting to be called in? Pull out the zippy bag and start working with the states. Are you stuck inside on a rainy day? OK – you get the idea — pull out the zippy bag and work on the states.

You get the idea – any downtime is an opportunity for feeding that little brain! I will have MORE flash cards coming soon – at least one new set a month for a while – so you can switch things up a bit and keep your “boredom bank” full of ideas.
