I know a lot of people think of Edison as the whiz kid of that time, but Tesla was the real brain! Nikola Tesla Accomplishments out-range those of his competitor and still have a lasting effect. Let’s look at a few of them.
This booklet I have for you will not only help budding writers, but teach them a little about the legacy of this amazing man, and his inventions. Do me a favor (and your kids) do NOT dumb down anythiing – kids ae super smart and CAN grasp concepts.
Nikola Tesla Accomplishments and Legacy :
AC Induction Motor:
An induction motor or asynchronous motor is an AC electric motor in which the electric current in the rotor needed to produce torque is obtained by electromagnetic induction from the magnetic field of the stator winding. An induction motor can therefore be made without electrical connections to the rotor.
Tesla Coil
A Tesla coil is an electrical resonant transformer circuit designed by inventor Nikola Tesla in 1891. It is used to produce high-voltage, low-current, high frequency alternating-current electricity.
Electrical Outlet
An electrical outlet or receptacle is a socket that connects an electrical device to an electricity supply. In buildings, electrical outlets are usually installed in the wall, although they can also be installed in the floor.
Electric Car
An electric car is an automobile that is propelled by one or more electric motors, using energy stored in rechargeable batteries. … The Tesla Model 3 was the world’s best selling EV from 2018 to 2019 and had a maximum electric range of 500 km (310 miles) according to the EPA.
Electricity Bolt
An average bolt of lightning, striking from cloud to ground, contains roughly one billion (1,000,000,000) joules of energy. This is no small amount, enough to power a 60-watt lightbulb for six months plus a forgotten open door refrigerator for a day.
Plasma Ball
A plasma globe or plasma lamp (also called plasma ball, dome, sphere, tube or orb, depending on shape) is a clear glass container filled with a mixture of various noble gases with a high-voltage electrode in the center of the container.
Power Line
What do power lines do? An overhead power line is a structure used in electric power transmission and distribution to transmit electrical energy across large distances. It consists of one or more conductors (commonly multiples of three) suspended by towers or poles.
Solar Panel
Solar panels work by absorbing sunlight with photovoltaic cells, generating direct current (DC) energy and then converting it to usable alternating current (AC) energy with the help of inverter technology. AC energy then flows through the home’s electrical panel and is distributed accordingly.
Teleautomaton
On a rainy September day in 1898 Nikola Tesla presented at Madison Square Garden’s first Electrical Exhibition a new invention that he called a “teleautomaton”. The invention was the first ever radio controlled device in the form of a miniature boat.
