Let’s face it, technology is here to stay. Finding different ways to incorporate it whiel educating our kids only makes sense. We did a little research and came up with these great apps for students that can make learning a little easier.

20 Smartphone Apps For Students

Evernote

Available on iOS and Android

The app allows you to sync your notes across all devices. Evernote also allows you to take pictures of your written notes and upload them to the app.

SoundNote

SoundNote is one of the best apps for students. While you’re taking notes, SoundNote records what is being said around you and synchronizes both.

So, if your lecturer is speaking and you’re struggling to keep up, this is your go-to app.

Office Lens

No matter what you’re studying at university, you might find you need to draw a diagram once in a while. Office Lens allows you to take a picture, and the app will crop out everything around it and give you a clear diagram. Easy.

Microsoft Office

Before you are done with school, you’ll almost certainly use Microsoft Office to get your work done many times, and you either use Word, Excel or PowerPoint.

The Office allows you to save your files to the cloud so you can access them wherever you are

EasyBib

EasyBib is an app that will help with your essay writing. The hassle of writing your bibliography is gone while using EasyBib. EasyBib will generate the bibliography entry for you. Referencing need not be so tedious anymore.

Mathway

Available on Android, iOS

Mathway is an app that solves math questions, from the simplest equations to those head crackers, Mathway will solve it for you, while also providing a detailed step-by-step guide to finding the answer.

Oxford Dictionary of English

A dictionary is a must-have app for any phone talk less of students. The Oxford English Dictionary is the authority on spelling, definitions and learning the English language

Uber

Uber is an online transport and courier service company. The app allows you to find driver and vice versa. Uber is a great way to get around to lectures when you are running late for a small fee. The app allows you to rate drivers and vice versa.

Quizlet

Quizlet is a web app that makes learning anything fun and intuitive. The app lets you create flashcards and study sets to make anything easier. Quizlet enables you to create your definitions, charts and diagrams.

Sunrise

Sunrise is an app for students who want to stay organized and stick to a daily routine. You can sync the app with your Facebook, LinkedIn and other social media accounts. Its simplistic design makes it easy to use.

Venmo

Venmo is a free app that links your device to your bank account and makes it easier for you to pay money without having to deal with fiscal money. Venmo allows you to share your payments with friends, pay your bills, collect money from those who owe you and much more.

Snap2PDF

Available on iOS and Android.

Snap2PDF is an app that lets you create PDF files from pictures. So if you missed the last class and you are too lazy to take down the notes, you can take a picture of the text and Snap2PDF will convert this picture into PDF. Simple.

Duolingo

Available on Apple and Android devices.

Duolingo is a language app that you can use in learning to speak a wide variety of languages. The app contains quizzes and oral tests that are sure to keep learning fun.

Google Drive

Available on iOS and Android

As a student, you may have a lot of documents that you will need to view anywhere, anytime and Google Drive is the way to go. It has a cloud storage space of at least 15GB.

Dictionary.com

For the enthusiast who read a wide range of books, Dictionary.com is very helpful in finding the meaning of some tricky words.

Scribd

Scribd is one of the biggest online libraries. You can find almost any book you are looking for on this app. The app also allows you to create your own library and bookshelf. It is available on all platforms.

Chegg

Chegg is available on iOS and Android platforms

This app allows you to buy or rent books at a fraction of the price they already cost. Chegg is free to download, but you will need to make some in-app purchases to get the best out of this application.

iTunes U

This app offers thousands of free video courses and lectures, books and many other learning materials from many other universities and museums. This app is absolutely free. Available on iOS only.

iHomework

Available on iOS only.

This app helps you keep track of all your tasks, assignments, projects and lots more so that you stay organized. This app is free, but you may need to go premium to enjoy added perks.

Scholly

Available on iOS and Android.

Scholly is an app that finds scholarships you are eligible for and keeps track of the date, deadlines and application progress.
