by Dannelle

Must-Have College Supplies for New Students. When you are going through your college packing list, checking and re-checking each and every item, the sheer amount of stuff that you will need for the next 4 years can be really overwhelming. To make things easier for you we have compiled a list of the must-have college supplies for new students. We have tried to cover all bases and once you go through this short but informative list, you will have your college packing done in record time.

Must-Have College Supplies for New Students

1) A Sleek Functional Backpack

If you are looking for a basic backpack that is lightweight but big enough to fit your laptop, then you can go for the STARTTID Backpack from IKEA, which starts for as little as ten bucks. There is a front pocket where you can keep the essentials, and the two side pockets can be used to keep the water bottle and the umbrella. This backpack is a must-have for your first day on campus.

2) Wireless headphones for music and podcasts

When you want to listen to music without disturbing your classmates or just want to read an audiobook all by yourself then a set of wireless headphones will definitely come in handy. Our choice is the Sony Wireless Bluetooth Headphones. They have the noise-canceling feature along with being splash-proof and sweat-proof.

3) Laundry Bag

You are going to need a laundry bag for stashing the dirty laundry in your closet and then transporting it to the laundry room. The mesh option is not only affordable, it is also very durable. The Polecasa Lead-Free Mesh Laundry Bag is perfect for college students, and the good news is that it is available for as little as seven bucks.

4) A High Quality bath towel

When you are buying bath towels for your college days, you will instinctively pick up the cheapest one you can find, but this is one college essential where you should spend a little more. College showers are not like a spa, but when you invest in a good towel, the experience will be a luxurious one. We recommend the very soft bath towels by Utopia Towels. They come in an extra-large size.

5) Phone with a long battery life

You need to have a phone where you don’t need to be charged so frequently. The Z4 by Motorola gives at least 2 days of battery life. For the video projects, you can use the 360 camera mode for capturing the best images. The phone works with all major networks and costs just under five hundred bucks. All in all, this is a very reliable smartphone for college-goers.

6) The Chromebook 514

If you are not looking for a traditional laptop, then you can opt for the Chromebook that operates Google Chrome OS. The Chromebook 514 by Acer has a backlit keyboard, which makes it easy for you to work even when your roommate has gone to bed. The battery is good for 12 hours, which you can keep working without the need to recharge. The machine has built-in virus protection!
