STEM Life with a nine-year-old college student

Code & Go Mouse Activity Set is Perfect for the Littles!

by Sarah

Technology sure has come a long way since I was a kid. It wasn’t until I was nearing my older years that the internet was even available in households across the country. Now the internet is available wirelessly, in every room, without having to free up the phone lines. Cell phones have taken over, cameras are available at the click of a button, and although our teachers warned us that we wouldn’t have them everywhere we went, we now have pocket calculators. If you had tried to explain some of today’s concepts to me when I was younger, I would have probably laughed outright and brushed it off.

Code A Mouse Kid's Coding game

Code & Go Mouse Activity Set is Perfect for the Littles!

Not only has technology as we know it changed drastically in the last 20 years, but so has the children’s toy industry. So much technology makes up everyday play things, it’s almost comical to try explaining toys of old to my children because everything they have has evolved so much since I was a child. Instead of imaginative play and imaginary friends, there are toys on the market that teach important subjects like math, science, and engineering in a fun and engaging way.

Take the Learning Resources Code & Go Mouse Activity Set , for instance. This coding game is a perfect example of how learning and technology are being incorporated into today’s play items. This particular kit will introduce your little ones to the fun world of coding and puzzle-solving. With help from your child, the programmable mouse will make its way through the maze while teaching them about science and mathematics.

Programming the mouse couldn’t be easier, just use the easy push-button controls to navigate the maze that your child created and find the cheese at the end. The mouse further engages your child by its lights and sounds. It also operates on two different speeds so you can play either on the floor or on the table without any problems.

One of my favorite parts about the Code & Go Mouse Activity Set is that the age recommendations start at 5 and up. A lot of coding kits require an older audience but this one encourages children of a younger age to participate and get their feed wet in the art of coding. It’s also part of the STEM learning curriculum. Your little one will learn critical thinking and problem solving through this fun activity set.
