Do you ever hear little your little people say something that they shouldn’t? Or talk to each other in less than kind way? This is where the Tacky Box comes to the rescue!
This is a fun idea created by a mother – daughter team to empower kiddos to change their own words/behavior for the better.
The kit includes
- One Tacky Box
- One Margo or Max Magnificent Choice Book (gender options)
- One Tacky Box Notepad
You simple read the (beautifully illustrated) 32 page book to your child (geared for ages 3-10) and present them with their own Tacky Box. Let them decorate their Tacky Box.
Then the note pads come in!
We had kind of a rocky start at this point… Miss Sarah thought she was the “Tacky Police” and wanted to put everyone’s tacky behaviour in there. I clarified that it was HER monitoring HER behaviour. (Otherwise I wouldn’t be able to call her a little dingleberry anymore when she leaves her clothes on the bathroom floor)!
After two months of trying it out — I have to give the Tacky Box a serious “thumb’s up”. Miss Sarah is a pretty amazing little girl, but occasionally, a few gems come home from school. This eliminated any thought that it was OK to say certain things, simply because you might hear someone else talk like that.
I can’t share with you what is on the slips — that is only for Miss Sarah, but I suggest you look into it yourself, if you have any undesired behaviour and want a fun way to correct it.
