With Avengers End Game just recently released, you might be like me and “refresh” yourself by watching the Avengers Infinity War movie first. If you have seen Avengers Infinity War, chances are you are still shaking your head and asking yourself, what on Earth just happened? And while I won’t share every piece of the overall plot with you, I will tell you that Infinity War was a cold, hard lesson in teamwork. While this movie showed us the strengths of each of the super heroes, we found that in the end unless they could all work together, nothing quite comes out as it should. And while Avengers Infinity War covered many themes including those of pride, the chase for success, and the love of power, I want to focus on how we can use the theme of teamwork to further our understanding of the film and teach some valuable lessons.
OK, so why team building from Avengers Infinity War?
Let’s talk about our characters for a moment. In this film we see each of the characters (Iron Man and Gamora to name a few) have their own ideas about how Thanos should be destroyed. After all, they are superheroes and this is what they do! But sometimes, to fight
a war you don’t just need one good idea, you need to fuse heads, combine powers, and come together as a team to create the ultimate army. Now, let’s turn this into a lesson.
How to Use Avengers Infinity War to Teach Team Building:
Supplies you will need for this activity:
– poster board
– markers in various colors
– movie DVD
– notebook paper
Directions for the Avengers Infinity War Lesson Plan:
1. Start by enjoying the movie Infinity War together. Before you begin, assign each participant to one
of the characters. During the movie it is their job to write down the strengths and any weaknesses of
the character. Make notes on the notebook paper.
2. At the conclusion of the film, take a few moments to talk about the various characters.
