I have talked about trading cards before and how they are a great way for teaching the kids! In the summer, the moon is such an accessible STEM item to study as you can see it almost every night. This will let your littles teach the cycle, see the changes and – if you have a telescope, you should encourage them to use it.
One thing I thank my parents for (in a list of many things) is that I have a killer telescope. The last eclipse was on a school night but I was allowed to stay up past midnight and watch it! I was totally amazed at how fast the Earth rotates as I had to keep readjusting the tracking focus keep it in my sight.
If you don’t have a telescope, borrow one — I guarantee you that it will be a great family activity!
